Sorry, look, I don’t want to be one of those people that says “my fandom is better than your fandom, my fandom suffers more, my fandom [blah blah blah]”

However, I really want to take this time to educate some of you on here who may not know about a little-known comic.

It’s called Hanna Is Not A Boy’s Name.

We’re a good fandom. We quarrel over very little. But that’s because there aren’t many of us left. Why is that, you may ask?

Because our author left us, rather abruptly and with little-to-no explanation, over a year ago.

For many of us, this is the last we heard from Tessa Stone. I said little-to-no explanation, because there are some folks in the fandom who know where Tessa is and what’s going on, why she left, etc. And it’s very honorable and respectable of them to not spread her business around. Many fans have gotten into fights speculating over where she’s gone. A lot of fans think she’s abandoned us. But if they knew Tessa

I mean if they really

knew her

or paid attention

they would know that she wouldn’t abandon us. She couldn’t. Because she needs us as much as we need her.

It’s been hard for a lot of us. Many of us have moved on to other fandoms

but even though many of us are enjoying new fandoms or revisiting old ones, we still love Hanna, deep down.

And let’s be honest, we had a really good thing going for a while there

and we’ve still got an amazing, supportive fandom who loves Tessa and is encouraging her to fight through whatever is keeping her away.

You think you’re the fandom who waited? Sorry, but we’ve got barely whispers, rumors, fights among ourselves - Is she coming back? Did she abandon the comic? What if she hates us? - and among other fandoms. Your fandoms are alive and kicking. Ours is dying out.

Please, Hanna fans. If you’re out there and you want to send Tessa a message declaring your love and support, talk to Asher and IX about Tessagrams, or passing on a message, or anything.

Our fandom has been through a lot. It’s been a rough year. But I know that Tessa loves us, and we’re waiting on something big if we can only hold out. I don’t know how long it will be, but I’m sure that she’ll come back. And if she doesn’t, she’ll find a way to get word to all of us that she has finally shut down the project for good.

And if you can’t stick it out and need to move on, that’s fine. I can’t begrudge you that. Waiting is hard, and it’s painful. It’s hard to watch the other fandoms roll in agony that they won’t get another update for three weeks, or another season for a year when at at least have confirmation of another season. We have confirmation of nothing, other than Tessa is alive and loves us.

And isn’t that enough?

Also makes me wanna roll around on my floor until I have an excuse to pull Zombie out again.
